75 Hard

75 Hard

I first heard about 75 Hard around three years ago when I was living in Nebraska. I had just got an offer to potentially change jobs, and I ordered the book and read it on my flight to my interview with the company I now work with in Utah.

The concept was really intriguing, and I knew that my discipline level wasn't nearly as high as it could be. It was a trait that I really wanted to make stronger. So I locked in and I started doing it. I made it 23 days until I was up all night helping my wife and daughter embark on an adventure of cycling down the eastern coast. (Not their fault in any way)

Their flight was very early in the morning, and I needed to drive them to Omaha, a couple hours away. I drove basically through the night. I can remember driving home in the truck and thinking how I needed to get my second workout in and that it wouldn't be a problem, because as soon as I got home (which ended up being about 5 a.m.), I would walk for 45 minutes before crashing out.

But when you're truly tired, your mind does weird things. I totally forgot about doing the workout, and that was the end of that attempt.

I have tried a few other times, always making it a few days, and pathetically, sometimes even less than a day!

One thing that was a little bit hard for me was just, honestly, keeping track of where I was with my water workouts and that kind of stuff. I know they have an official app for this, but I wanted to make one that was free, had no upsells, wasn't trying to sell me protein powder or anything else and was just helping me to complete 75 Hard.

So if you are looking for a challenge and want to do this at some point, I encourage you to sign up for the app I created. I've tried to keep it very simple and usable. You can just use your mobile browser on your phone and log in with an email address. It will send you a code, and you'll be off and running.

You can take your progress selfie each day in the app directly, and at the end it will give you a flip book of the photos through the entire challenge.

If you ever need to start over or reset, you can just go to settings, and there you can start on any future date.

If you do use it and find it helpful, I would love your feedback, or if you have something that you think would improve it, please let me know.

P.S. Since I'm typically going to bed pretty late, I've set it so that if you do happen to get your workout in at 2 a.m., you can still complete the previous day. If you forgot to enter one of your values but you did complete the task, you can do that as well. It's essentially a 24 hour cushion.

Results based on your integrity.
